UCU FUNdraised over $7,700 for the Campaign for Ending Hunger

Community members gathered for a fun bingo event in support of the campaign

Portland, ME (March 25, 2026) – In support of the Campaign for Ending Hunger, nearly 80 people gathered at the Clarion Airport Hotel in Portland to participate in a FUNdraiser held by UCU. This first-of-its-kind event for the credit union focused on its core values of caring and fun, while giving back in our local communities.

The night featured bingo games, called by UCU’s emcee who brought fun and laughter to the event, a robust silent auction with donations from local businesses and credit union sponsors, and plenty of snacks and pizza to go around. The event had a fun and festive atmosphere supported by a team of UCU volunteers throughout the night.

With generous donations from sponsors and event attendees, $7,727 was raised for evening’s charitable cause, the Campaign for Ending Hunger. These funds go right back into our local communities, supporting food pantries and cupboards that combat food insecurity and assist our neighbors and friends.

“Thank you to our sponsors, attendees and the community for embracing our FUNdraiser and making it a success,” said April Gleason, UCU’s Chief Lending Officer. “We had an amazing event and will continue to play it forward, bringing fun and care to our future events supporting the campaign.”
