UCU Has Earned the AARP BankSafe Seal for 2026
February 2026
UCU is proud to announce that we’ve once again earned the AARP BankSafe Trained Seal, recognizing our strong commitment to protecting elder members from financial exploitation. The BankSafe designation is earned after over 80% of an organization’s frontline staff completes AARP’s comprehensive BankSafe training.

Financial institutions are at the forefront of preventing elder financial exploitation. Jilenne Gunther, National Director of the BankSafe Initiative, quoted: “These financial organizations continue to take meaningful steps to ensure their staff have the tools, skills and confidence to spot and stop financial exploitation before money ever leaves an account.”
At UCU, we believe aging should come with dignity, security, and peace of mind. That’s why our team has invested in BankSafe training- so we can better recognize the warning signs of elder abuse and take action to protect our members’ financial well-being.
As proud members of our communities, we understand the trust that UCU members place in us. Receiving the BankSafe designation is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire frontline team at UCU, and it’s a promise to continue prioritizing the well-being of our members, especially our at-risk members.
We are proud to be BankSafe Trained and will proudly display the AARP BankSafe Trained Seal!
