2025 Festive Tree Lighting in the UCU Plaza

ORONO, Maine (December 5, 2025) – As the temperatures drop, Orono's downtown remains warm with festive winter cheer!

The 2025 Orono Tree Lighting in the 15 Main plaza was a huge success thanks to everyone who made it possible, and thank you to everyone who braved the cold to watch the tree come to life and celebrate this joyous season with us.

The night was spent with our incredible community enjoying hot cocoa, cookies, and a remarkable tree that was grown and cut right in Orono!

From finding the tree to transporting it, setting it in place, and stringing the lights, it really was a team effort and we are extremely thankful for all of the help that went into this amazing event.
