UCU Announces New Executive Administrator and Staff Promotions

ORONO, Maine (May, 2023) – University Credit Union (UCU) is pleased to announce the following staff hires and promotions.

Jess Francis, Executive Administrator

Jess Francis has been hired as Executive Administrator. Francis brings over 16 years of credit union experience and expertise, having held a variety of roles during her career, from member services to administration to marketing. Francis is very active in the community, currently serving as event chair of the Courageous Steps Project and organizer for the Stillwater River Trail of Lights in Orono. In 2023, Northern Light Health’s Champion the Cure Challenge named her Volunteer of the Year.

Michael Connors, Marketing Manager

Michael Connors has been promoted to Marketing Manager (previously Senior Marketing Specialist). Connors began his UCU career in 2013 as a Member Services Representative shortly before joining the Marketing department. As Marketing Manager, he focuses on creating multi-channel marketing campaigns in support of the credit union’s strategic goals and ensures the highest quality of branding standards across all credit union assets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Maine.

Cathy Philbrick, Member Services Manager

Cathy Philbrick has been promoted to Member Services Manager (previously Branch Manager). A 28-year veteran of the financial services industry, Philbrick has worked in almost every role in retail banking, from mortgage loan officer to commercial loan officer to branch manager. Philbrick first joined UCU in 2012 as Branch Manager for three locations in Orono.

Paige Everett, Project & Training Manager

Paige Everett has been promoted to Project & Training Manager (previously Training Coordinator). Everett joined UCU in 2016 as a Member Services Representative. In 2022, Everett took on the role of Training Coordinator, responsible for managing employee training and professional development. As Project & Training Manager, Everett will continue to curate the credit union’s training program and serve as project lead in new developments.
